I love teaching. I have been teaching for 16 years in Red Clay School District. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Elementary Teacher Education from the University of Delaware. I am of "Highly Qualified" status with the state of Delaware and am certified as a general and bilingual elementary educator. This summer I plan to begin courses toward my master's degree in either elementary counseling, administration, educational technology or curriculum development.
I have a wonderful husband and two fantastic children, 5 and 10 years old. Some of my favorite things to do are spending time with my family, hiking, swimming and acting. I'll be appearing at the Grand Opera House on May 15th and 16th, 2009 in a musical play called, "One Bright Hope." (No, I will not be singing, fortunately for the audience!
) I briefly spent time in stand-up comedy before starting my family 10 years ago, and may to go back to it someday. I also love writing, and hope to publish my own book!
